Known as Johnny to his patients & team, Dr. John Caballero relocated to Santa Barbara during the COVID-19 pandemic & founded Stride Better in 2022 to deliver premium, one-on-one rehabilitation in patients’ homes.

Born in Miami to a first-generation Cuban-American family, Dr. Caballero holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami, pitched Division I baseball at Florida International University, & completed an Orthopedic Specialty Residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

With advanced orthopedic training & a diverse clinical background—including outpatient, sports, pediatrics, geriatrics, skilled nursing, home health, & travel therapy—Johnny brings compassionate, expert care to every visit.

His mission is simple:
